Thanks for the link Maggie, I just spent an hour or so looking at it and other sites with information about Guillermo De Anda (Memo).
Believe it or not, he taught Monica and I to dive in 1993 in Cancun at which time he had a dive shop called Nautilus Dive Centre. He was an excellent instructor and we really enjoyed the course, in particular, we remember his emphasis and our discussions about safety and diving conservatively, it stuck with me. I have always been a very cautious diver (somewhat out of character for me).
Since we have moved to Mexico I have heard about him several times, including some good friends who were taught to cave dive by him. I would like to get in touch with him at some point if I could find his email address, anyone....

My husband Curtis and I completed our certification on the 19th of December.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Daniel for being an incredible instructor. If it was not for his passion and patience I would have not completed the course.

Looking forward to our return and getting back in the water.

Mucho Gracias!!!

Kiwi, immediately jumped up and was on his toes ready to assist me with my dilema, he could sense the urgency in the air or maybe it was just that sugary shit that he had been drinking that had him all hopped up....either way.....he was at my service.....and service is what Maya Diving is all about!

So, I had the little sucker by the wing......with my finger on the OUTSIDE of my nose........den hottie Kiwi says.....I have one of two options......neither of which are gonna be pleasant.........I am told!

But least he was helping.....DH was over in corner just shakin' his head.....only my Mags!\

So Kiwi, explains the following options....which also included a short brief, clear and concise demonstration.....ya know that Maya Diving service!

1. Blow out hard as I can.......there is mucho risk that this will NOT work as the timing of lifing the finger and blowing must be delicatly cooordinated and if not done correctly the situation will get worse long before it gets better.

OR........old school it.......

2. Suck in, release finger.......den real, real hard.......go for the muther load of a luggy.......like yer life depends on it........I am told that for me, this is the option I should choose..........after a small demonstration, from my lovey DM friend.......I was aiming for some palm tree about 12 feet away..........

I sucked in, released the beast...........and dug deep, I mean real deep.....I think I even got the remainer of the pneonmna that I had left in my lungs from childhood.......and outta my mouth came skeeter.......dang thing did sumersault......bounced otta pile of phlem......and flew off inta distance........what a wild ride that musta been!

I turned to my DM peeps, took my bow and shot of tequilla that was waiting for me!

And THAT is how to get a Mexican skeeter otta nose!

I think Kiwi and I have bonded on a level that most will never understand!LOL

Thanks again Kiwi!

Cheers-

Tim et all-

Here is a link (I will try to post) to the web site which I mentioned on our recent trip.

I cannot wait to see this movie as I believe it to be very important in shark conservation.

Besides, the dude is very cute for a Canadian in a speedo!

Here is the link.....

I wanted to say that I think it's great that you aren't shy about speaking out on such important issues. Some people are arguing that the lobster condos actually increase the amount of lobsters living on the reefs by providing them with a perfect place to live. I found an interesting report issued by the Bahamian Government Fisheries Dept. that seems a bit inconclusive but suggests that they may be at the maximum sustainable level. They may not be considering secondary effects. Hey maybe I should just go dive everywhere in the Bahamas and take a look for myself :-}.
Cheers.
